British Literature B
(BritB)
This course requires an enrolment key

We will be concentrating on the four major genres of literature (fiction, non-fiction, poetry and drama), choosing works from major—and a few minor—British authors. This is a survey course where you’ll be introduced to the most noteworthy and important literature. We’ll learn about reading and writing and think about the issues and concerns reflected in the literature we study and, hopefully, reach some conclusions about our responses to those issues and concerns.
British Literature B aims to engage students in a critical study of the development of British Literature from the Restoration period up to the modern era, to help students develop powerful literacy and language skills in alignment with national standards and the Maine Learning Results, to challenge students intellectually and to help them grow creatively as citizens, writers and individuals.
