Voices of the Environmental Movement: The Rhetoric of Ecology
(RHETECO)
This course requires an enrolment key

This course will be a study of the important voices in the environmental movement from its beginning. The key questions we’ll work to answer is what is “ecology” and “environmentalism,” what should they be, and what part should we be playing today in the movement? We’ll be reading non-fiction--the writings of early ecologists and contemporary ones, too. We’ll be researching questions about ecology and the environmental movement and writing our findings as persuasive argumentation...thesis-driven research that will prepare you for similar work at university level.
